6 – 12 Museum Street, Ipswich
Remodelling, extension and refurbishment of a former office block and retail units dating from the 1950’s and 60’s, providing 20 residential units of studio, one or two bedrooms.
The scheme overlooks Colchester Castle, a Grade I listed building and scheduled Ancient Monument. The existing buildings facing the castle were of low merit and completely out of character for their setting, and were remodeled to include pitched roofs and dormer windows to the extended accommodation, with a further floor also added to the front range overlooking the High Street.
